Spyder Club Limited Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Interpretation

1.1. In these conditions, the following words have the following meanings:-

Applicant means a person applying for membership of Spyder Club;

Authorised Foreign Motorcycle Licence Holders means an Applicant holding a motorcycle licence that has been issued to the Applicant by a national authority from the European Union or the United States of America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa;

Contract means any Contract between Spyder Club and the Member for the provision of motorcycle self drive hire services incorporating these Conditions and the User Manual;

Date of Membership means the date on which an Applicant’s membership application and payment of membership fee is successfully processed;

Driving Conviction means conviction of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or licence endorsement, licence suspension or penalty points being imposed. Parking and not more than two speeding offences accounting for 6 points in the past 3 years may be ignored. Spent convictions covered by any legislation providing for the rehabilitation of offenders may be disregarded.

Disability or Condition means mental or physical defect or infirmity or fits, epilepsy, diabetes, heart condition, any heart complaint and any other disease, disorder, illness or physical infirmity, which could affect the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle;

Member means anyone authorised by Spyder Club to use a Spyder Club motorcycle;

Motorcycle means a motorcycle made available by Spyder Club to a Member for self-drive hire and the expression Motorcycle shall include the Motorcycle’s keys, documents and accessories supplied with the Motorcycle;

Restricted Occupation means an occupation that engages person wholly or partly in:

1) professional entertainment and/or professional sports;

2) horse racing (including Jockeys), greyhound racing, racing of any sort and/or gambling of any sort;

3) personnel of the foreign armed forces and/or a foreign Embassy; and

4) being unemployed and /or a student;

Security Deposit means the value of the insurance excess shown in Condition 9;

Service Centre means Spyder Club’s premises at Donington Park Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2RP or Maidenhead, where the motorcycles are collected from and are to be returned to;

Spyder Club means Spyder Club Limited a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 05842996 and with its registered office at Unit 4 Donington Park, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2RP;

User Manual means the operating manual and notification of charges as issued to Members on successful application.

1.2. The headings in these Conditions are for convenience only and shall not affect their interpretation.

2. The Contract

2.1. Spyder Club reserves the right to repossess the Motorcycle at any time without demand at the Member’s expense if the Member is in serious breach of these Conditions.

3. Motorcycle Collection

3.1. The Member will collect the Motorcycle from the relevant Service Centre identified when booking the Motorcycle.

3.2. The Member agrees that prior to the driving away of the Motorcycle they will:-

(a) book the Motorcycle using the procedures outlined in the User Manual;

(b) gain access to the Motorcycle using keys provided by Spyder Club;

(c) together with a representative of Spyder Club, inspect the Motorcycle for any damage. Any damage shall be shown on the pre-hire damage report; and

(d) complete an insurance hirer’s proposal form. Any inaccuracy in the statements and answers in the insurance proposal form shall invalidate the cover under the insurance policy.

3.3. Once the Member gains access to a Motorcycle the Member will be responsible for the Motorcycle until the Motorcycle is returned to the Service Centre from which it was collected in its original condition and the Motorcycle is locked.

3.4. A delivery service may be available on a first come, first served basis and in accordance with the User Manual.

4. Motorcycle Return

4.1. The Motorcycle must be returned by the agreed drop off time and date to the Service Centre as pre-arranged through the web-site booking system and in accordance with the User Manual.

4.2. The Motorcycle will be returned to the relevant Service Centre together with:-

(a) the Motorcycle’s keys; and

(b) all documents and accessories present at the time of collection in the same condition as they were on collection.

4.3. The Member will remove all personal possessions from the Motorcycle and shall agree with a representative of Spyder Club the total mileage travelled by the Motorcycle during the hire period.

4.4. A representative of Spyder Club will then complete a post hire damage report. A copy of this report shall be given to the Member and any charges due from the Member shall be charged in accordance with conditions 5 to 7.

4.5. A collection service may be available on a first come, first served basis and in accordance with the User Manual.

5. Charges for late return

5.1. If the Motorcycle is not returned by the agreed drop off time and date to the relevant Service Centre, Spyder Club is entitled to charge the Member at the agreed rate of damages contained in the User Manual until the Motorcycle is either returned or recovered.

6. Charges for return of Motorcycle in poor condition

6.1. If the Motorcycle is not returned in the same condition as it was on collection, Spyder Club is entitled to charge the Member for the cost of valeting, and/or servicing the motorcycle (including the cost of spare parts), in addition to the charges arising under condition 7.

7. Other charges

7.1. Spyder Club retains the right to charge its members certain charges as agreed damages in those cases where the Members do not follow these Conditions or the User Manual either intentionally or unintentionally.

7.2. Spyder Club will take into account any extenuating circumstances, however the final decision to impose a charge on the Member lies solely with Spyder Club.

7.3. The User Manual details of all the charges to Members.

7.4. In accordance with the charges as set out in the User Manual, the Member shall pay or reimburse Spyder Club on demand the sum of:

(a) the agreed membership fee;

(b) any applicable administration charges;

(c) any applicable charges arising under condition 11;

(d) any excess mileage charges relating to the distance travelled whilst the motorcycle is in hire over and above the Member’s allocation;

(e) any fines, penalties, court costs or other expenses imposed on Spyder Club by law, arising from the use of the Motorcycle while on hire to the Member, (unless due to Spyder Club’s fault). Payment by the Member does not relieve the Member or any person of direct responsibility to any public authority for the Member’s unlawful acts or omissions;

(f) Spyder Club’s costs, including reasonable legal fees and administration charges incurred in collection of amounts due from the Member under the Contract to the extent that such costs and charges would be recoverable by Spyder Club in successful court proceedings;

(g) any amounts due under the Contract relating to the loss, damage or late return of the Motorcycle;

(h) any sums incurred by Spyder Club in connection with the recovery of the Motorcycle, or otherwise incurred by Spyder Club due to the Member’s acts or omissions; and

(i) any sums arising from the loss or damage to the Motorcycle’s keys (including supply of replacement keys).

8. Payment of charges

8.1. The Member will provide Spyder Club with the Member’s credit card details prior to hiring a Motorcycle.

8.2. Spyder Club will hold on the Member’s credit a value equal to the Security Deposit if necessary.

8.3. Spyder Club will return the Security Deposit in full on the return of the Motorcycle provided that no sums fall due arising out of:

(a) condition 5 above;

(b) condition 6 above;

(c) condition 7 above;

(d) condition 9 below;

(e) condition 11 below; and

(f) clause 6 contained in the User Manual.

8.4. In the event that any of these sums fall due, they will be deducted from the Security Deposit.

9. Responsibility of the Member

9.1. The Member is responsible for the first £750.00 towards the insurance excess for damage, loss and/or theft when the amount claimed does not exceed, £14,999.99. Damage includes excessive tyre wear over and above what would reasonably be expected for the period of hire.

9.2. The Member is responsible for the first £1,250.00 towards the insurance excess for damage, loss and/or theft when the amount claimed exceeds £14,999.99.

9.3. The Member is responsible for paying any permits to park the Motorcycle during the hire period together with any fines, tolls or charges levied as a result of using the Motorcycle.

10. Motorcycle care

10.1. The Member is responsible for the safe keeping of the Motorcycle whilst it is on hire to the Member. The Member must:

(a) make sure the Motorcycle is locked and secure when not in use;

(b) make sure the Motorcycle’s keys are not kept with the Motorcycle when it is not is use;

(c) use the correct fuel;

(d) set and use any security devices either fitted on or supplied with the Motorcycle;

(e) keep the Motorcycle locked and securely stored in a locked brick built garage if the Motorcycle is kept overnight at the Member’s address;

(f) keep the Motorcycle locked and securely stored in a locked brick built garage if the Motorcycle is away from the Member’s home address overnight. If this cannot be arranged, the Member must take every possible step to secure the Motorcycle – it must be locked, covered and kept out of public view; and

(g) keep the Motorcycle’s keys secure.

10.2. The Member must check the oil and water on collection and subsequently during any trip, by monitoring the oil warning light and temperature gauge.

10.3. The Member must inspect the tyres on each booking and check that they are correctly inflated.

10.4. The Member is solely responsible for keeping the Motorcycle sufficiently supplied with the correct fuel during use.

10.5. The Member is responsible for ensuring that the motorcycle is left clean and tidy with a full tank of petrol before it is returned.

10.6. The Member must not make any alterations to the Motorcycle.

10.7. The Member is responsible for the keys issued to them and undertakes not to allow them to be used by any other person including other Members.

11. Conditions of use

11.1. The Member must not allow the Motorcycle:

(a) to be used to carry passengers for hire, reward or any other kind of remuneration;

(b) to be used to carry goods of a hazardous or dangerous nature or of excessive size or weight;

(c) to be used to propel or tow any motorcycle, trailer or other object without the prior written agreement of Spyder Club;

(d) to be used to take place in any race, rally, pace making, trials, speed testing or other contest or, except with the prior written agreement of Spyder Club, any racetrack or off-road facility of any kind;

(e) to be used whilst the driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance impairing their consciousness or ability to react: in contravention of any traffic regulations;

(f) to be driven by any other person (including any other Member) who has not been authorised by Spyder Club; and

(g) to be driven outside England, Scotland and Wales without the permission of Spyder Club.

11.2. Failure to comply with the conditions of use may result in the charge of the agreed damages payments set out in the User Manual and / or the recovery of the Motorcycle without notice at the Member’s expense.

11.3. The Member shall notify Spyder Club immediately if the Member is involved in an accident involving a motorcycle that he or she is driving (whether or not a Spyder Club motorcycle) and whether or not during a period of hire of a Spyder Club Motorcycle.

11.4. The Member agrees to notify Spyder Club immediately (or at least 1 week before the next booking, in any event) if any of the following events occur:

(a) the Member’s driving licence is endorsed;

(b) the Member’s occupation changes to that of a Restricted Occupation;

(c) the Member suffers from a health related complaint that restricts the Member’s ability to drive safely.

11.5. The Member shall observe the rules and procedures set out in the User Manual.

12. Insurance and eligibility of membership

12.1. Spyder Club has in place insurance cover for the Members using the Motorcycles with Spyder Club’s permission (and not otherwise) and in accordance with a Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. This policy meets all applicable statutory requirements and protects Spyder Club and the authorised driver (the Member) for the Motorcycle against any legal claims from third parties for personal injury or material damage caused by the use of the motorcycle.

12.2. The insurance does not cover damage to any premises belonging to or in the possession of the Member or the Member’s employer or to property belonging to or held in trust by or in the custody or control of the Member or Member’s employer.

12.3. Only Applicants from the United Kingdom (UK) or Authorised Foreign Motorcycle Licence Holders between the ages of 25 years and 70 years will be considered for membership. The applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

(a) hold a full and valid UK European Union, United States of America, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand or South African motorcycle driving licence for two years; or, if a non-UK applicant, hold a full and valid motorcycle driving licence for two years;

(b) have no Driving Conviction;

(c) have at least two years’ no claims discount;

(d) not be involved in a Restricted Occupation;

(e) hold a valid current UK credit card with an available credit of at least £1,250;

(f) not have a Disability or Condition unless the Applicant has notified the DVLA and the DVLA has issued a valid driving licence in light of the Disability or Condition without imposing any restriction on the Applicant;

(g) has not had their insurance declined and/or renewal refusal and/or special insurance terms imposed upon them and/or have cover cancelled by a motor insurer; and

(h) has not whilst driving been involved in more than two accidents in the last three years.

12.4. Applicants that are not UK or Authorised Foreign Motorcycle Licence Holders may be considered for membership if they satisfy the conditions in 12.3 above and can prove that they have 3 years’ recent and regular driving experience of a motor vehicle and a motorcycle in the UK.

12.5. In certain circumstances, an Applicant may be accepted on special terms (e.g. a higher insurance excess or an additional insurance premium). The Applicant will be notified of such special terms in writing and, if the Applicant is willing to accept these special terms, will be asked to sign the special terms for agreement before membership is completed.

12.6. Spyder Club (or persons acting on Spyder Club’s behalf) will conduct negotiations and agree any settlement with insurers. Any insurance monies in respect of loss or damage to the Motorcycle will be paid to Spyder Club or such persons as Spyder Club may direct.

12.7. If a Member notifies Spyder Club of any of the occurrence of any of the events specified in Condition 11.3 or Condition 11.4 above and Spyder Club’s insurers shall withdraw insurance cover for the Member, Spyder Club shall terminate the membership of the Member and shall make a pro rata refund to the Member of the annual membership fee to reflect unused points, mileage, and days under the membership, less a termination fee as set out in the User Manual.

12.8. If the actions or negligence of the Member invalidates insurance cover held by Spyder Club for any reason and results in the loss of cover provided under the insurance policy, the Member for will be liable for any reasonably forseeable losses incurred by Spyder Club.

13. Accidents

13.1. If the Member is involved in a road traffic accident whilst using the Motorcycle, the Member must report the road traffic accident immediately to the Police regardless of personal injury, loss and/or damage.

13.2. The Member must report the accident to Spyder Club as soon as practically possible, providing the Police reference number.

13.3. in the event of an accident the Member shall not make any admission of responsibility or guilt which would be binding upon Spyder Club or its insurers, or promise to pay any third party, or attempt any repair to the Motorcycle.

13.4. The Member shall fully complete a Spyder Club accident form on request.

13.5. The Member shall co-operate with Spyder Club, its insurers and the Police in any investigation or subsequent legal proceedings.

14. Theft

14.1. If the Motorcycle, its keys and/or documents and accessories present at collection, are stolen the Member must report the theft immediately to the Police and then to Spyder Club as soon as practically possible, providing the Police reference number.

14.2. The Member shall fully complete a Spyder Club theft form on request.

14.3. The Member shall co-operate with Spyder Club, its insurers and the Police in any investigation or subsequent legal proceedings.

15. Damage and vandalism

15.1. If the Motorcycle, its keys and/or documents and accessories present at collection, are damaged the Member must report the theft immediately to Spyder Club. If the damage was caused by, or the suspected cause was vandalism the Member must notify the Police and provide Spyder Club with the police reference number.

15.2. The Member shall fully complete a Spyder Club damage form on request.

15.3. The Member agrees to co-operate with Spyder Club, its insurers and the police in any investigation or subsequent legal proceedings.

16. Personal Property

16.1. Spyder Club is not liable to the Member for loss or damage to property left in or on the motorcycle either during the period of hire or afterwards unless the loss or damage results from Spyder Club’s negligence. Members are not covered by Spyder Club’s insurance for the theft of possessions or valuables from Motorcycles.

16.2. Spyder Club is not liable to the Member for any loss of or from, or damage to their own personal vehicle if left at Spyder Club premises at any time unless such loss or damage results from Spyder Club’s negligence. Parking provision is subject to availability.

17. Personal data

17.1. The Member consents to the computer storage and processing of the Member’s personal data by Spyder Club in connection with the Contract and to the transmission of this data for the purposes of Spyder Club’s legitimate interests including statistical analysis, marketing of Spyder Club’s services and credit control. If the Member breaches the Contract, the Member’s personal data may be disclosed or passed to third parties to the extent necessary to assist recovery procedures.

18. Limitation of liability

18.1. Except for death or personal injury caused by Spyder Club’s negligent acts or omissions, Spyder Club shall only be liable for any loss or damage which is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of a breach of the Contract.

19. Motorcycle provision

19.1. Spyder Club will ensure, as far as is reasonably possible and in accordance with the Contract, that the Motorcycle is in a roadworthy condition and is regularly serviced.

19.2. Motorcycles are made available to Members from the Service Centre from the booked start time and are accessed by the use of the keys provided. Once the Motorcycle has been checked for external damage or neglect, and where appropriate relevant details have been entered in the logbook, a Member can then use the Motorcycle in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.

19.3. In the event of a Motorcycle breakdown occurring, and once the Member has requested assistance, a designated breakdown service provider will attend to the Motorcycle (according to the terms and conditions arranged with Spyder Club).

19.4. Motorcycles must be booked in accordance with the User Manual. The Service Centre can be contacted at specified times (see User Manual) for general enquiries, or at any time by using the emergency telephone number contained in the User Manual for reporting accidents, theft, or damage of any other nature. To access a motorcycle, bookings must be made using the procedures set out in the User Manual. All bookings are on a first come, first served basis. If the Member’s requirements cannot be met, the Service Centre will endeavour to offer an alternative but cannot guarantee to meet all the Member’s requirements.

19.5. If, due to circumstances beyond Spyder Club’s control, the pre-booked Motorcycle is no longer available for hire to the Member, Spyder Club will endeavour to offer an alternative Motorcycle. At the option of the Member, the Member may either accept the offered alternative Motorcycle or re-arrange the original booking for another date and time.

19.6. Spyder Club will maintain a fleet of Motorcycles available for hire to Members. The precise constitution of that fleet of Motorcycles will change from time to time as Motorcycles are added and retired. Spyder Club will endeavour, so far as practicable, to maintain the same number, range and quality of Motorcycles as are available for hire to Members as at the Date of Membership.

20. Term of the Contract

20.1. The Contract will remain in force for a period of at least twelve months. Spyder Club must give at least one month’s notice of their intention not to renew the Contract.

20.2. The Contract may be terminated with immediate effect by the Member in the event that Spyder Club seriously breaches any of the terms and conditions of the Contract.

20.3. Spyder Club may terminate the Contract with immediate effect in the event that the Member seriously breaches any of the terms of the Contract or the procedures set out in the User Manual.

21. Assignment

21.1. The right of the Member to hire a Motorcycle is dependant upon the personal experience and qualifications of the Member. Consequently, a Member shall not be entitled to transfer any rights under the Contract to any other person.

22. Law and Jurisdiction

22.1. The Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and in relation to any legal action or proceedings arising out of or in connection with the Contract. Each of the parties submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Spyder Club User Manual


1. Interpretation

1.1. Words and expressions defined in the attached Conditions shall have the same meanings when used in this Manual.

2. Membership level

2.1. Spyder Club offers three levels of membership as detailed in figure 1. The Member will pay the annual membership fee to Spyder Club. On satisfactory completion of the membership application and payment the Member will be able to use their allocation of points, days and/ or miles detailed in Figure 1 throughout their membership year.

2.2. The membership year starts on the Date of Membership.

2.3. The membership year will cease 365 days following the Date of Membership or, if any of the following occurs whichever is the earliest:-

(a) the number of points is attained;

(b) the number of days usage is attained;

(c) the number of miles used is attained.

2.4 The Member will have the option to renew their membership immediately for another year once the previous membership ceases upon payment of the annual membership fee for the next year.

2.5 The Member will be allowed to carry over up to 50% of all unused points, days and miles if membership is renewed within a week of the previous membership ceasing.

2.6 Any points carried over must be used within 12 months.

3. Application to become a member

3.1. The Applicant must complete the necessary application form and provide Spyder Club with the following:

(a) a valid motorcycle licence;

(b) two other forms of identification (one must bear the Applicant’s signature);

(c) a valid current UK credit card; and

(d) confirmation that they meet the Insurance and eligibility of membership criteria set out at condition 12 of the attached Conditions.

4. Booking the Motorcycle

4.1. The Member will be able to book a Motorcycle subject to availability one-month in advance using the online booking system through Spyder Club’s website or by contacting Spyder Club on 01332 850344.

4.2. The Member will have the option to book a motorcycle subject to availability up to one year in advance. The Member’s entitlement is detailed in figure 2.

4.3. The Member will be able to view a Motorcycle’s availability through the rolling calendar available to Spyder Club’s website.

4.4. The hire period available to Members is detailed in clause 4 at Figure 3.

4.5. The Member will be able to log on to the online booking system using their specific password and username. The online system will automatically calculate the Member’s usage to date and the remainder of available usage.

4.6. The Member will collect and return the motorcycle in accordance with Conditions 3 and 4 contained in the attached Conditions.

4.7. A Motorcycle delivery and /or collection service will be available on a first come, first served basis and will be charged in accordance with clause 6.13 below.

5. Hire periods

5.1. Subject to availability, the Member will be able to hire the Motorcycle during the four hire periods detailed in Figure 3.

5.2. The weekday period, weekend period and bank holiday period will be given priority booking.

5.3. The single weekday period is subject to availability on a last minute, first come, first served basis. The Member will have to contact the Service Centre by telephone to check on availability.

5.4. All bookings are subject to availability.

6. Tariff of charges

6.1. The membership fee detailed in figure 1 above may be subject to increase at Spyder Club’s discretion (but will not be increased for the Member during the Member’s membership year).

6.2. The Member will be responsible for all the charges incurred under Condition 7 of the attached Conditions.

6.3. The Member may be charged for any reasonably forseeable loss or damage resulting to the Motorcycle, its documents or accessories, that, because of the actions or negligence of the Member, cannot be claimed for through insurance at Spyder Club’s discretion.

6.4. £750.00 insurance excess will be payable by the Member in the event of any loss or damage that is the subject of an insurance claim (damage or loss up to £14,999.99).

6.5. £1,250.00 insurance excess will be payable by the Member in the event of any loss or damage that is the subject of an insurance claim (damage or loss over £14,999.99).

6.6. The Member will be charged £30.00 per hour or part thereof (at the discretion of Spyder Club) for the late return of the Motorcycle. The Member will not be liable to charges for the late return of the Motorcycle from the time that the Member notifies to Spyder Club of the genuine loss or theft of the Motorcycle and that the loss or theft has been reported to the Police.

6.7. If the Member cancels a booking during the week prior to collection, Spyder Club at its discretion may deduct 50 miles for each day’s booking that is cancelled from the Member’s allocation of miles. If the Member cancels a booking giving more than 7 days’ notice, no charge will be levied.

6.8. If the Member is not a UK motorcycle licence holder they will be charged a £25.00 administration fee on application and /or renewal to confirm details of the Member with the relevant national authority.

6.9. Any excess use of mileage will be charged at £0.55 per mile for each mile over the Member’s entitlement. This is at the discretion of Spyder Club. If the Member is at the end of their term of membership and renews, the charge will be waived and the excess mileage will be deducted from the new allocation.

6.10. If incorrect details are provided on application, a £50.00 administration fee will be charged to the Member. If the correct details deem that the Member does not meet the insurance and membership eligibility criteria contained in the attached Conditions, then membership will cease and the membership will be refunded less the termination fee specified in the User Manual.

6.11. A sum of up to £30.00 may be charged if, on return of the Motorcycle, Spyder Club reasonably deem that the Motorcycle requires valeting.

6.12. A £50.00 termination fee will be charged to the Member if Spyder Club terminates membership for a Member’s serious breach of any terms of the Contract or procedures set out in this User Manual.

6.13. If the Member requires delivery and or collection of the Motorcycle, the Member will be charged at £0.40 per mile. The charge will be based on the mileage of the roundtrip for delivery and or collection i.e. Service Centre to Member and back to the Service Centre.

6.14. Spyder Club will hold on the Member’s credit card a value equal to the Security Deposit where requested.

6.15. Spyder Club will return the Security Deposit in full on the return of the Motorcycle provided that no sums fall due under:

(a) condition 5 in the attached Conditions;

(b) condition 6 in the attached Conditions;

(c) condition 7 in the attached Conditions;

(d) condition 9 in the attached Conditions;

(e) condition 11 in the attached Conditions;

(f) this clause 6.

6.16. In the event that these sums fall due, they will be deducted from the Security Deposit.

7. General

7.1. Membership with Spyder Club and hiring of the motorcycles is subject to the attached Conditions.

7.2. Contact details for Spyder Club:

Additional Terms and Conditions for the hire of Track Motorcycles

1. In these Additional Conditions, the expression Track Motorcycle means a Motorcycle designated by Spyder Club as a Motorcycle to be used exclusively on a racetrack.

2. The attached Membership Terms and Conditions and User Manual apply to the hire of Track Motorcycles (except where inconsistent with the express terms of these Additional Conditions), In the event of any inconsistency, the provisions of these Additional Conditions shall apply to the hire of all Track Motorcycles in precedence to the attached Membership Terms and Conditions and User Manual.

3. Track Motorcycles will be available for use by Members on a first come, first served basis. The Track Motorcycles are not licensed for use on public roads and may only be used on track at an organised track day event approved in advance by Spyder Club.

4. A Track Motorcycle booked for use at Donington Park will be available from 7.30 am until 5.30 pm of the same day. Bookings for use of Track Motorcycles at Donington Park can be made up to 5.30 pm on the previous day but all cancellations must be made at least a week in advance.

5. Bookings for UK tracks other than Donington Park will be dealt with on an individual basis and advance booking of at least a week will be required. Delivery to UK tracks other than Donington Park may be available by special arrangement.

6. Due to the special circumstances of track use, bookings for Track Motorcycles will only be taken over the telephone or in person. Members must either be able to prove that they have satisfactory track day experience or undertake a Ron Haslam Race School day (with a 10% discount) prior to hiring a Track Motorcycle or have suitable instruction on their first track day. Members with limited experience on track and road are advised to use the Yamaha R6 motorcycle for their first two track days. Failure to follow this advice will mean that the Member is subject to the higher insurance excess of £1,250. The minimum charge for any damage to a track bike will be £250 up to a maximum of £750 or £1,250, at Spyder Club's discretion.  Spyder Club reserves the right to refuse to hire any Track Motorcycle to any Member who, in the reasonable opinion of Spyder Club, is not suitable to take a charge of it. Examples for which Spyder Club may consider a person not suitable are age, ill-health, disability, inexperience or suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

7. Track Motorcycles are regularly maintained and Spyder Club will ensure, so far as reasonably possible, that Track Motorcycle are fit for track use.

8. The Member shall:-

8.1. comply with the requirements of the organisers of the track day event and the track owners at the track at which the Track Motorcycle is to be driven by the Member;

8.2. sign an additional indemnity form in favour of the organisers of the track day event

8.3. wear suitable protective clothing and helmet when driving the Track Motorcycle.

9. There will be deducted from the Member’s entitlement:-

9.1. 40 points per day for use of a Track Motorbike at Donington Park; and

9.2. 58 points per day for use of a Track Motorbike at a track other than Donington Park.

9.3. All mileage travelled during the period of hire.

10. A full tank of petrol will be provided on collection and the Track Motorcycle must be returned with the same volume of petrol. If the Track Motorcycle is returned with less fuel, the fuel tank will be filled and the cost of refilling charged to the Member plus an administration fee of £5. Current fuel prices at Donington Park’s fuel station will apply.

11. A motorcycle trailer is available for hire on a first come, first served basis for Members to transport Track Motorcycles to tracks other than Donington Park for a fee of £15 per day. The trailer will be fully maintained and the Member must inspect the trailer for damage before use. The Member will be liable to pay an insurance excess of £200 for loss, damage or theft of the trailer whilst on hire to the Member.

12. Motorcycling is an inherently dangerous sport and, except in the case of negligence on the part of Spyder Club, the hire of Track Motorcycles is at the Member’s own risk.
